APEXS V-Count II
Our V-Count II (Car Speed Sensor) will set a speed restriction in your vehicle and track how many times your driver has exceeded it.
Automobile accidents are the leading cause of death among teenagers in the United States. The great majority of these collisions are caused by bad driving behaviors. These tragedies are caused by peer pressure, loud music, showing off, and general recklessness behind the wheel. Get V-Count instead of worrying about your teen's driving.
Why V-Count II ?
Setting curfews and other limitations, as well as discussing defensive driving skills, have their place. But what happens when you're not around? When awful things happen to good adolescents as a result of inexperience, peer behavior, and other reasons beyond their control. Overspeeding is the leading cause of accidents involving inexperienced teen and adult drivers, according to data. However, you can now establish a speed restriction and track how many times your kid exceeds it.
How it works?
The device does this by receiving the same Car Speed Signal (VSS) as the vehicle speedometer. A specific speed sensor installation kit (VSS Installation Manual, RS Installation Manual) is available for older vehicles (year 1992 or before) that do not have an electrically controlled speedometer (see V-Count II Setup, requires PDF reader or view plain web page).
A computer processes the speed signal sent to the V-COUNT II and compares it to a recorded calibration value to calculate the vehicle speed at any given moment.
Tell me more
When the vehicle owner or fleet manager sets a maximum speed restriction, a loud warning tone is played. Until the vehicle speed is lowered below the predetermined maximum, this warning tone will continue to play. The duration in seconds before an Over Speed violation is reported can be set anywhere between 1 and 20 seconds. The timer is set to 5 seconds by default. If the speeding infraction lasts longer than the time limit, a flashing red light will illuminate. Only an authorized individual with the 6 character Security Code can turn off the Over Speed indication light.
A speed violation counter will increment for each incident of violation that surpasses the specified Over Speed violation, up to a maximum count of 99 for each occasion of violation.
A red flashing TAMPER light will begin blinking if the V-COUNT II is unplugged for more than 20 seconds and then reconnected.
