Tips for Setting up Your Vantage Pro2 Weather Station

  • As we are in the Northern and Eastern Hemisphere, it’s best to have the ISS Solar Panel facing south and the anemometer arm pointing north. This helps ensure that the wind direction vane is in the right position for accurate data collection. You can find more details on page 27 of the Console Manual.
  • If you’re setting up a wireless model and facing connection issues between the ISS and Console, try keeping the units apart to prevent interference and be patient as the initial connection may take some time.
  • If the wireless units are still not communicating, check that the ‘Retransmit’ function on setup screen 3 is set to ‘OFF’ (unless you are using additional consoles as repeaters).
  • If you experience occasional dropouts in wireless station communications or receive unusual data, it could be due to interference. Consider changing the transmission channel on your ISS and Console. Instructions can be found on page 18 of the ISS Manual and page 12 of the Console Manual.
  • Regular maintenance of your Vantage Pro 2 weather station is important for its smooth operation. Watch a short video to learn how easy it is to clean and take care of your weather station.
